Come do the best work of your life.
We interview for slope, not pedigree. If you're a first-principles builder, we want to talk even if you don't tick every box.
Senior Autonomy Engineer
Own the autonomy stack that lets our aircraft fly persistent, beyond-visual-line-of-sight missions along powerline corridors with no human piloting.
What you'll do
- Design planning, navigation, and state estimation for GPS-degraded corridor flight.
- Build behaviors for autonomous approach, station-keeping, and in-flight energy harvesting.
- Take features from simulation through hardware-in-the-loop to real flight tests.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in robotics or autonomy with strong C++ and Python.
- Depth in SLAM, state estimation, and motion planning.
- Shipped autonomy on real robots, drones, or vehicles (ROS2 / PX4 a plus).
Perception & Computer Vision Engineer
Build the vision systems that spot faults, hotspots, and vegetation encroachment on critical grid infrastructure, in real time and on board.
What you'll do
- Train and deploy detection and segmentation models for conductors, insulators, and thermal anomalies.
- Own the data engine: labeling pipelines, active learning, and evaluation.
- Optimize models to run within the power and latency budget of a flying computer.
What we're looking for
- Strong deep-learning and computer-vision fundamentals (PyTorch).
- Experience with real-world RGB and thermal imagery.
- A bias toward shipping models into production, not just papers.
Embedded Flight Software Engineer
Write the real-time, flight-critical software that keeps our aircraft in the air and safe.
What you'll do
- Develop firmware and middleware across flight controllers, sensors, ESCs, and comms.
- Build fault detection, failsafes, and the hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure behind them.
- Hold a high bar for reliability in safety-critical code.
What we're looking for
- Strong C/C++ on embedded systems and RTOS.
- Real-time systems experience; UAV flight stacks (PX4 / ArduPilot) a plus.
- Rigor, testing discipline, and a debugger you actually enjoy using.
Edge AI / ML Systems Engineer
Make heavy AI run on a flying computer, within tight power and latency budgets.
What you'll do
- Optimize and deploy models on NVIDIA Jetson-class hardware.
- Own quantization, TensorRT, and end-to-end on-board inference latency.
- Build the runtime that orchestrates perception and autonomy in flight.
What we're looking for
- ML systems / MLOps experience with model optimization.
- Hands-on with CUDA, TensorRT, and edge deployment.
- Comfort profiling and squeezing every millisecond out of a pipeline.
Power Electronics Engineer, Energy Harvesting
Design the wireless power system at the heart of FlyX — capturing energy from the electromagnetic field around energized power lines. This is core IP.
What you'll do
- Design high-efficiency harvesting front-ends, rectification, and power conditioning.
- Model coupling and EMI, then build and bench-test prototypes.
- Drive the harvesting system from breadboard to flight-ready hardware.
What we're looking for
- Deep power-electronics experience: converters, magnetics, rectifiers.
- Strong RF / electromagnetics intuition.
- A hands-on, first-principles engineer who lives at the bench.
RF & Electromagnetics Engineer
Model and harness the fields around high-voltage infrastructure to maximize how much energy we can safely capture.
What you'll do
- Run EM field modeling and simulation (FEM / FDTD) of conductors and couplers.
- Design antennas and coupling structures, then validate them in the lab.
- Lead measurement campaigns near energized lines with our field team.
What we're looking for
- Applied electromagnetics or RF engineering background.
- Fluency with HFSS, COMSOL, or ANSYS, plus real lab measurement.
- Comfort working around high-voltage environments a plus.
Robotics / Mechatronics Engineer
Design the airframe and mechanisms that let our aircraft work safely and precisely near the wire.
What you'll do
- Own mechanical design of the airframe, gimbals, and positioning mechanisms.
- Select actuators, drive design-for-manufacturing, and manage vendors.
- Build, break, and iterate on real hardware every week.
What we're looking for
- Mechanical or mechatronics engineering with strong CAD (SolidWorks / Onshape).
- Hands-on prototyping and test experience.
- Drones or robotics hardware background preferred.
Flight Test & Field Operations Lead
Take our aircraft from the lab to the line, and bring the data back to make it better.
What you'll do
- Plan and run flight tests and field deployments with utility partners.
- Serve as pilot-in-command; own test cards, safety, and data collection.
- Close the loop tightly with engineering after every flight.
What we're looking for
- FAA Part 107 certificate and substantial UAS flight-test or ops experience.
- A safety-first mindset and calm hands in the field.
- Willingness to travel to test and customer sites.
Regulatory & Certification Manager
Clear the regulatory path for routine, autonomous flight over critical infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Lead beyond-visual-line-of-sight waivers and the path toward Part 108.
- Manage FAA engagement, safety cases, and airworthiness.
- Interface with National Labs and utility EHS teams.
What we're looking for
- UAS regulatory experience (Part 107 / BVLOS) and direct FAA interaction.
- Track record authoring safety cases.
- Aviation or airworthiness background.
Founding Account Executive, Utilities
Bring persistent aerial intelligence to the utilities that keep the grid running, as our first dedicated seller.
What you'll do
- Own enterprise sales into investor-owned utilities and cooperatives.
- Run pilots to production and turn champions into contracts.
- Build the go-to-market playbook from the ground up.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of enterprise or technical sales, ideally into utilities, energy, or hardware + software.
- Comfort with long, complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- A builder who thrives without an existing playbook.
